Welcome to Clinical Supervision Connection

Trauma-Informed Clinical Supervision and EMDR Consultation for Therapists

I’m Theresa Cicchetto, LMFT, LPCC, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor with more than 25 years of clinical experience serving children, teens, and adults across diverse treatment settings. My professional background includes work in county mental health, school-based services, crisis services, and Kaiser Permanente, before establishing my trauma-focused private practice, Counseling to Inspire, Inc., in 2011.

Through Clinical Supervision Connection, I provide clinical supervision for therapists seeking thoughtful guidance as they develop their clinical skills and professional identity. My supervision approach is trauma-informed, ethically grounded, and highly supportive, helping associate therapists strengthen diagnostic reasoning, case conceptualization, and effective treatment planning.

As I work toward the AAMFT Approved Supervisor designation (anticipated completion in early 2026), I am committed to offering high-quality LMFT and LPCC clinical supervision that supports emerging therapists in building confidence, competence, and professional integrity.

I am also an EMDRIA Consultant in Training and provide EMDR consultation hours for clinicians pursuing EMDRIA Certification. These consultation sessions support therapists in deepening their understanding of EMDR therapy, strengthening protocol application, and integrating trauma-informed treatment approaches into their clinical work.

My goal is to create a supervision environment where therapists feel supported, challenged, and inspired to grow into confident and ethical clinicians while developing the skills needed for long-term success in their careers.

My Supervision Approach

Supervision with me is a dynamic, reflective process. I believe that becoming a confident, grounded therapist starts with having a safe space to think critically, ask hard questions, and grow with intention.

Here’s what you can expect:

  • Multiple Clinical Lenses – You’ll learn how to approach cases with curiosity and flexibility, using a range of trauma-informed and evidence-based models.

  • High Standards of Ethics – We'll consistently center legal, ethical, and cultural considerations so you can practice with confidence and integrity.

  • Support for the Whole Clinician – Supervision is a space where you can bring your clinical challenges, emotional reactions, and professional uncertainties—all without judgment.

Modalities Used

I support interns and associates in developing foundational and advanced skills in:

  • Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT)

  • EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing)

  • Exposure-Based Therapies (Prolonged & Written)

  • Certified in Clinical Hypnosis

These models are explored not just as techniques, but as frameworks that help you understand trauma, resilience, and human behavior at a deeper level.

My Clinical Background

My experience includes:

  • County Mental Health and Juvenile Violence Court programs

  • School-based services in charter and public school systems
